City Nature Challenge: Wildlife Walk at Portway Hill
About the event
Taking place as part of the 2025 City Nature Challenge, we'll be hosting a wildlife walk at Portway Hill Local Nature Reserve on Friday 25th April, 13.00 - 15.00! Throughout the walk we'll be encouraging everyone to use the free iNaturalist app (find it in whichever app store you use!) to photograph and identify the wildlife they see - this will help to show the whole world how wild we are as we collect records to lift us up the City Nature Challenge leaderboard! You can find out all about this brilliant, global wildlife-spotting challenge by clicking here.
With sweep nets and viewing pots on hand, this will be a great chance to get up close to some of the wonderful wildlife which calls the reserve home.
Backed by spectacular rock exposures of the Rowley Rag, carpeted in wildflowers throughout summer, and with butterflies filling the air, there's no finer place to appreciate the living landscape of wildlife sites in the wider cityscape! There are stunning views across our region too.
No booking necessary. We'll meet at the entrance to the reserve on St Brade's Close, B69 1NX, and we look forward to seeing you there!
